Hi,

I hvae a ScanGuage2 fitted to my Patrol. I have a question for the learned users of the group!

How do you get on when you do not fill the tank ? There appears to be no provision for partial fill only a "fillup" quantity.

This occurs when on a trip and I fill from gerry cans.

Provided you have made adjustments ie the litres used on the scan gauge equal the bowser litres a few times they do eventually need no further adjustment as they become more accurate
But, when you fill from jerries you must fill the vehicle tank to the same level as you would from a bowser then do the fillup thing on the scangauge so it knows that the tank is full.
I can get about 100kms after the red light comes and I can run till a litre is left in the tank.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Pinko for your reply. Yep I understand all you have said but I was wanting to know if you could part fill the tank and enter the amount or you have to make a note of the quantity added and add that to the amount when you fill the tank and enter the total. It seems this is the only way to do it !

Can I ask what year, make model is your patrol?

I purchased a Scangauge11 unit about 2 years ago and cannot get it to 'talk' to the vehicle

Even though the Patrol has an OB11 compliant plug I have been told that Nissan has its' own 'language' and Scangauge doesnt recognise it

I have a 2004 Nissan Patrol Gu111

You have rekindled my interest :-))))))

I've a 2000 GU 3LTD and tried to get Scan GaugeII to run I couldn't get it to talk to my vehicle. The guys at ScanGauge agreed that there is a problem with the GU Patrols, apparantly it works overseas but GUs in Australia are talking in a different language as far as Scan Gauge is concerned, they gave me a full refund.

Thats as I understand it too.

I tried for almost 6 months talking to all sorts of boffins all around the world to see if they could come up with some way of getting Scangauge to recognise the proprietory language that Nissan uses

So I wonder how the original poster got his to work??

This failure to communicate between Scangauge and the Nissan must be limited to the Patrol...I have a Scangauge II fitted to my D40 Navara and it works perfectly.

Yes apparantly it is only the 3LTD GU that has this problem. The guys at ScanGauge at at a total loss as to why. It's a pity because it would a handy aid to have

Mine is a 2007 3 litre common rail turbo. It works fine with this unit , just "plug and play"

I should have mentioned it earlier but it will work on the new 'common rail' motors but not the earlier engines
