We are just about to set off on a trip to Innaincka and
Coongie Lakes and hope to call into the Parooo-Darling NP on our way north. Does anyone have any information on the road conditions, camping facilities etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

g'day Max,
We did the
DArling River Run about 3 weeks ago and it was fantastic.
i can't give you up to date raod conditions but if they havn't had much rain then they will be fine.
The
camp ground at Wilga in the Paroo NP was very good, plenty of water in the river and very interesting place.
Have a good time!!
Cheers Nifty

Not sure about the roads around that area but it has been drizzling here in
Broken Hill for the last 2 days (and very cold) so might want to further
check the weather before you head off.

We found the roads from Camerons Corner to
Innamincka in good condition in May. In
Innamincka we camped at Cullyamura
waterhole where the
camping area goes on and on with even more
toilets being built while there. We made the mistake of setting up
camp at
the entrance to
camp area near someone with a noisy generator!
Also camped at
Coongie lake - need to get there early in day as not as many sites as Cullyamura - more sites over sand dunes tucked away we were told. We loved
Innamincka! The water was still flowing over the causeway when we were there.
Last year (Aug) we went from
White Cliffs out to the Paroo-Darling NP for the day - the road was OK - the Nat Parks Office in
White Cliffs has a great display on the area and information re camping.
Enjoy your trip!

Some great sites over the sand-dunes at Coongie...one in particular nestled between sand-dunes just near the water..
Cheers, The Landy

Hello Max, I heard there is a flood warning for the Paroo on the news tonight so keep an eye on the weather and road reports, other than that have a good trip.
I am going out to
corner country in August on my way to
Wyndham races.
Cheers

Hi Rob - thanks for the warning - we'll certainly keep an eye on the weather. The western road reports seem to be
well up to date. Enjoy your trip up to Wyndam - Max

Max
Here is a weather site you may be interested in
Currawinya National Park
As said before avoid these areas if it rains or threatens to rain.
We have been there many times and usually find the fishing great.
