Agree with everything except the slow bit. My 2004 is factory turbo with a D'tronic. Iv'e had it up to 150 and it was going to go faster! Not for me :) 120 in a troopy is fast enough. So don't know about the slow thing :)
Cheers Lyndon

I agree 100%, we love our ugly Troopy which is slow, but reliable. We just have to watch the cornering speeds and braking distances on the skinny tyres.

Hi Mark, just curious why you flew to
Adelaide to buy a Troopy? Is it new or second-hand? I'd have thought there would be plenty of these in WA... were you trying to avoid an ex-
mine site Troopy, or are the deals that much better in
Adelaide that it is still cheaper even after the return airfares?

Hi Tim, It is second-hand and is a '06 "RV" Troopy ie 5 seater 4.2 litre factory turbo with electric windows, cd player etc. I wanted a ute but did not like the amount of or should I say lack of room in the cab. My wife said it would be good to get a second row of seats, plus I pull a heavy trailer with a 300kg nose weight. RV Troopy fits the bill.
There are about 4 or 5 RV Troopy's in yards around Australia, non in WA.
Regards
Mark

Thanks Mark. Had my eyes on the new wagon but not sure I can or want to spend the extra $$$ to buy new. Might have to look out for a good RV Troopy as you've done - I think I'd be happy with the 6cyl 4.2TD!
Hope it serves you
well...

Welcome to the world of the discerning tourer!
Mine too is an 06' RV 5 seater.

We have a 2005 rv factory turbo ,we bougth new .this is an awesome car that responds really
well to minor mods as everything else works perfectly.
things Ive done
ARB deluxe winch bar
warn winch
ipf lights
duel batteries
compressor
fridge
2 spares one on the door one inside
drawer system that I built myself with one large full width Drawer to fit hilift jack and Freedom tent.
roof rack and awning
But to make it stop on wet roads change the wheels and tyres,
Get poly airs for the back end to help it handle.black not red
And it is far from SLOW,it will run a comodore up most hills.
