This was printed in todays Tablelander newspaper. The trip is one that most would take as an easy side trip, but the reporter seem to think it was a hard trek. Each to their own I suppose.

My observation is that the vehicle setup would be more trouble then it was worth. Lobo is an eccentric, but darn sure I would not like to drive open to the elements on that trip. Note the ground clearance, very little on the vehicle & towing a triler
I just have to wish him luck and all the best. Cheers Tony.

Got to agree Tony. He's gone to alot of trouble & expense on a vehicle that is not particually suitable & will be illegal on the road. Begs the question..................... WHY?
Cheers Craig............

I wish my mate and I had known that journo back in the early 80's when we did basically the same trip in a HK Holden ute!
We'd have never risked our lives in such reckless fashion!

Are they like maxtrax, only painted in a camo colour, on the side of the vehicle?

Wow guys you are harsh, poor old guy probably thinks there isnt even electricity in
Katherine yet, or maybe the reporter thinks that LOL.
If it wasn't such a dramatic article and they just did a writeup on a 70yr old driving a very uncomfortable vehicle that distance we would have all excepted it more.
Begs to question what experience he has if he does run into trouble though.
