I would just like to publicly thank Diamond for installing my cruise control today. He drove all the way from Bendigo, with his family and gave me four hours of his time to do the job. I cannot thank him enough.

It just proves that this site is full of people with the good old aussie spirit of helping those who have no idea.

Thanks Mate, I will see you on the tracks.

Cheers.Just Do It!

Obviously this is a good place to start. I have a 1989 Ford Maverick TD42. Is it possible to fit a cruise control to a diesel. I have real right leg problems on a long trip, and c'mon guys the hand throttle is NOT an option.

Hi Big Trev!

Know what you mean about the right leg problem - I've got a '93 Mav TD42 LWB and I'm 6'5" tall - after a couple of hours behind the wheel I don't have to stop and walk around - I NEED to stop. I fitted one of those AP50 Cruise Controls from K-mart and it has been a Godsend. Easy to fit and it does the job - best $170 I've ever spent.

Cheers!

Diamond, your legend status improves, I just hope you can get over from spending 4 hrs in the bresence of a Toyota! Still the offset is 4 hours in the presence of a fellow Exploroz mate so it would overcompensate to say the least So many places to go!
So much work to do :0(
