Hi all
Finaly getting set up with a net book and remote touch screen, just need to figure out how to mount net book so can remove it easily, have access to ports while in position and also allow the cooling vents access.
But i have suddenly realised i think i need to access the net book to turn it on? is this corrrect or is there some way of turning it on from the remote touch screen?
Kind regrads GN

GN,
There are mechanisms to power on PCs and such devices using the network card. However this method, known as Wake-up on LAN (WOL), requires the use of netwoking and another networked device to do it, although a mobile phone can be used. It's all a bit impractical for a vehicle.
I have heard of people modifying the power switch of a pc and moving it to a more accessible location such as the dash. Scary.
regards
Garth

I just have
mine under the passengers
seat. Fortunately the power on switch is on the side but still requires me to remember before driving away.

HAve a look and see what video card it uses
Mine has an Intel GMA Driver icon in the control panel.
Plug in your second monitor and open that and it gives various options which should allow you to do what u want.

Given that a touch screen just acts in place of your mouse then it could be set up to power on with mouse movement.
