I stayed overnight there about ten months ago. There is a campground opposite the hotel behind the now defunct Dingo Cafe. It is a large area and has barbecue sites, cabins and shower & toilets. Not 5 star but upmarket for the area.

Stayed there a month ago. As Graham said about the campground.
I was in one of the Dongas. Bit cramped but not bad.

We had some fun at the pub and drove down the track for 20kms to camp off the side.

Fire, stars, perfect.

Cheers

Hi Scoof,
We stayed at the camp ground across the road form the Pub for 2 nights just before Easter - both grounds I are owned by the Pub.
Hot water wasn't working and very little water pressure in the now "cold" showers. They had the irrigation system going all the time we were there and that was the cause of the pressure problem.
We (& a heap of other campers) complained about the 'hot' water the manager/owners shrugged their shoulders and said 'oh well...it's not working'!
If we camp in William Creek again we will just free camp near the public toilets across front he pub (like the back packers were doing) and slip in to see if the hot water is on :-)
Cheers
Alex

Thanks Alex ,
The girls would like a nice shower but not a cold one.
We may even free camp along the track , and out with the sponge bath LoL

Cheers Scoof . :-)

Stayed in the campground (unpowered) over the road from the pub about two weeks ago. Showers are ensuite portables but water was hot. Owners dont turn on the generator till dark but showers and toilets work okay. Have a shower early as the HWS is limited in supply. Small trees but if you camp in the right aspect you will get some afternoon shade. Campground behind the pub is powered but said to be noisy as near the gennie that runs 24/7

I stayed at the campground opposite the pub in early June for 3 nights, all was good, had a little problem with the gas hot water shower, but Nev from the pub fixed it up real quick, and it wasn't helped by the clown who stole a tap from a shower the night before and left the water running all night.
