Enjoy Brad!
I have to admit that we enjoyed/are enoying the Cape a great deal. We have been exploring for about a month so far.
Cheers,
Peter

BTW Brad, we saw a Patrol being towed north along the OTT after sucking in a turbo full of water at
Ducie Creek.
He had no
snorkel.
They were budgeting $8,500 to fix it AFTER the 800k tow to
Cairns....
We also saw a Subaru with PVC pipe
snorkel sticking out through a hole hacked in the bonnet that made it all the way. It had no windcreen and a had some VERY big bullbar imprints in the tailgate though.
They had had a great time........
Cheers,
Peter

Obviously they (in the Petrol) didn't walk it first as there is a shallow option on that one.

Hi Peter, love the Suburu story. We're planning a trip up there. Hope to have 3 weeks available for the Cape (
Cairns to
Cairns). Just wondering what route / itinerary you would suggest for the Cape given your recent experience up there. Cheers

jdwynn, if you are planning the OTT, it is easier going north.
The southern most challenge (Palm Creek) would require winching to get up from the north. Gunshot is down going north too.
Apart from that, go everywhere you can. Maybe give Mutee Head South a miss, but North is nice and a Coaster bus would get in there OK. Maybe give
Jackey Jackey Creek a miss too.
Captain Billy Landing is great (nice drive too), but can be windy on the east coast, same with Nanthu.
Tilt?
Just a little puddleThis was east of
Stones Crossing (need to winch to get there).
Cheers,
Peter

Hi. It is amazing the angles your vehicle can get to and still come back upright. Good stuff. Hope you had the back tidy again before the
cook got back. PS,your reverse lights don't appear to be working, lol. Bob.

Toyocrusa, there is a link to another bit of tilt above.
Thanks for the tip on the reversing lights, wouldn't want to get stung for that on the OTT!
Cheers,
Peter

We have just pulled into
Chili Beach.
Beautiful, but blowing a gale (always does on the east coast?)
But there is NextG reception, so we can muck about on the internet!!!!
Nowhere is remote anymore........
Cheers,
Peter
