Hi All, the Missus's 'Electric Window Switch' works spasmodically (read most of the time does not, and occasionally does). This really annoys her, as she needs to ask me to put it up and down from the drivers side (and this then annoys me). Obviously the window is OK, as I can operate from the drivers side. I've tried WD40 on her switch, but little improvement? Any ideas?

Thanks........Mark

Sounds like the switch, the drivers side usually is the first to go as it gets more of a work out. There is one on ebay $270 not hard to replace.
or try toyota.Site Link

Should read more slowly your missus must use the passenger side window allot
you will have to replace the switch on that side, or if the back doors are the same you could try one to prove it is the switch.

Mark

I had the switch out of my 80 series today (they look the same as my 100 series). Any....it is a rocker set up with a contact (like the old pinots set up in distributors). Miy 80 series was playing up like yours, and I just used a points file on the contact and it works fine this arvo. I would say you will sonme arcing around the contacts and plastic moulding. Pry the plastic swith holder out, and switch will pull apart by taking out a couple of phlips screws. Just watch the little springs in there.

Simon,
thanks for the advice. Have tried to do today.
1. Pried the window holder/switch out of the door
2. Pried the window switch out of the holder
3. Cannot see two phillip screws to unscrew. Maybe it's different to the 80 series.

Any further advice from anyone? Or do I need to replace the entire switch?

Thanks.........Mark
