Neil,
Talking to a friend last night with 100 series. Head gasket failed inexplicably at 80,000km. Luckily Toyota came to the party. From the Redbook site:

average kms 45,000 - 55,000
trade in price guide* $36,400 - $40,900
national average price - private sale* $40,100 - $45,700
price when new (RRP) $59,670
or
Red Book Code TOYO01JR
2001 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER
FZJ105R Wagon 50th Anniversary GXL 8st 4dr Auto 4sp 4x4 767kg 4.5i (June onwards)
average kms 45,000 - 55,000
trade in price guide* $38,700 - $43,600
national average price - private sale* $42,700 - $48,600
price when new (RRP) $62,110

Neil,
I was just talking to another mate who got one this week. 2001, less than 40,000 km and he paid $38k. I just had a look at it and it is pristine. Has a tow bar but no front bar.Bob
