G'day all
In a follow up to Thread 69612 Gone Bush was good enough to draw attention to a report he had seen on another
forum that Telstra was overstocked with these phones & was prepared to deal if pushed.
I've tried a couple of Telstra shops in
Brisbane but they don't seem to know about it
I'm wondering if anyone has been able to do a deal with Telstra for one of these & if so in which part of the country.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Graham

Hullo Graham,
I hope I wasn't peddling rubbish by passing that comment on.
May I suggest an alternative way to get what you are after.
If you know someone in business who deals with Telstra for all their phones they will have a Telstra rep assigned to their account. Sometimes these Telstra reps, especially if they look after businesses in the country, can get hold of these satphones as an outright sale and it's just incidental to their main business of looking after the main account.
The Tesltra shops are notorious for their lack of knowledge and systemic arrogance.
Good luck.

Other than that only the Section of Telstra that actually deals with sat communications can help you.
Make a cup of tea Dial 125111 and if and when they answer before you die ask for that section making it VERYCLEAR U WANT A SATELLITE fone not a mobile.
Depending on the thickness of the person you get you may or may not get the right place
Also DONT let them talk you into a PLAN make it very clear right at the start you want to BUY ONE OUTRIGHT or nothing.
Best of luck perhaps a packet of bikkies with the tea as
well LOL

No wonder you had trouble - there's no such thing as a Motorola 505A - the Satphone is a 9505A.
