Has anyone travelled this road recently? The family and I are off to Karijini on Monday then we will be heading down to Mt Augustus. I plan on taking the Ashburton Downs Road/Dooley Downs Road to get there. What are the current road conditions like?
Is there anywhere along the Ashburton Downs Road (towards Dooley Downs Road turn off) to
camp for the night?
Cheers.

Hi Brad, we were through there about 5 weeks ago the
mount Augustus road in the
Meekatharra Shire was ordinary,
check road conditions in exploroz I posted info in there, good spot to
camp is on the Dooley/Pingandy road, at Pingandy creek, there may or maynot be water in it, but it is a good spot with good shade, the only
places I can think of on Ashburton Downs/
Meekatharra road are fairly close to Ashburton Downs Station, if you are leaving from
Tom Price, you will get to Pingandy Creek to
camp no worries. Cheers, Kanga1

Thanks Kanga1, I will aim for Pingandy Creek. How long does it take to reach from
Tom Price?

Brad, it will take you about 4 hours from
Tom Price depending on stops, take care in the creek bed/wash outs some of them will have you in the air if you are moving too fast. Cheers, Kanga1.
