Sounds good, but it will be getting quite warm out there in October. Make sure you allow extra fuel and water. If it is a typical year, expect high 30's and low 40's for day temperatures.

Agree totally Stephen. Having worked out there in bygone days I can tell you that once you hit September you stand a chance of getting very hot days. If you have a
breakdown, it could be very unpleasant fixing the problem, even if you had parts. By October you are almost guaranteed to get some +40 days. As a rule I would recommending leaving the desert no later than mid September.
Granted, there are vehicles in the desert and on the edges of it much later than this but these are work vehicles and the people in them are accustomed to the high temps.
