Hi All,
A few months ago I post a question re insurance without a residential address, and now 3 months later have found some solutions. I did get some answers previously and suggestions but I want my insurance company to know that "
Grey Nomad" no fixed address and have a mailing address etc.
CIL for the caravan - no problems with modifications, and I think it was $5,000 contents but remember if it is fixed it is an accessory i.e. antenanae, solar panels/batteries/ etc.
Like Dougie have searched for the right insurance co for my proposed yet to be bought vehicle. Yesterday I contacted dga insurance
http://www.dgainsurance.com.au
This is the thing. Only $2,000 for contents, BUT Bullbar,
Driving Lights, Roof Racks, Snorkels, Solar Panel, etc are covered in the accessory area. Contents are your camping gear etc, which if you have a generator and engel dosent leave much left.
I figure this insurance is better than none at all, Lying re address, and I can divvy the contents from van to 4WD to even out, the value amount.
The other negative is NO ASSIST. But I am a Qlder and RACQ said they could give me roadside assist, but need to double
check and make sure other affiliated clubs will do so, but hey it is not such a big deal.
I feel like the monkey is off my back, that is until someone comes up with a plausable reason not to go with dga or has an experience not to my liking.
So all you guys and gals give me some
feedback.
