A 4WD challenge from a 79 SWB cruiser vs an 09 LWB Patrol. It's hardly comparing like with like but it's good entertainment. The Sandgropers can see it all live thanks to their timezone. An earlier item was two micro cars doing the mail run from
Coober Pedy to William Ck. Wazza Brown got lost leaving the opal town. We did the same thing in April heading out to
the Breakaways. Still, not having any spare seemed reckless/irresponsible but hey, you're only 100km from civilisation. This show has copped a lot of flack but I got my 8 cents worth tonight. Cheers, Glenn

Not exactly a fair comparison was it, a short wheel base V a long wheel base and a petrol V a diesel
Having said that, its getting better every week.
Cheers,
Cruiser

yep it sure is, this was a fun episode and pitted a shorty 40 against the might of a patrl, nothing there that would make a difference between the two though, like a rocky track needing some axle travel to make the difference.

I also thought tonights show was better than some of the past efforts.
My friend had one of those canopies that fittd the Torana hatchback and he thought it was really good in its day
Next week will be interesting with the Stig driving a 1970 GTHO Falcon

Still....nowhere as good as the poms.
I like watching Hammond's other shows too. The last one on the 101 tower was interesting.

I stopped watching this show a couple of weeks ago after coming to the conclusion during the bit about the armoured vehicles, that it was banal and senseless drivel . I'd been putting up with it since this seasons episodes started trying to convince myself that it was improving??? but I just couldn't take any more. Perhaps I was hasty?
Its interesting to know though that the Stig from the Pommie Series (which I love) has been revealed.
