Gidday all.

I am looking at what is available in a lightweight camper trailer.
I have a TD '03 Hilux and I have towed a Kimberly Kamper with it but you knew that it was behind you!
Has any one got one of those pod campers from Stockman Products? They seem reasonably light. Any other suggestions. Nothing flash or fancy, just basic and robust.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Greg

I got a POD - and its not bad - takes 10-15 minutes to put up another 10 for the Annex - But I like it - towing 500 Kgs is a breeze .. my only mistake was not getting the off road version but maybe I'll upgrade the suspension one day..

Any more you'd like to know - just send me an MM or email ..

Greg,

There is a mob called Lightweight Campers in Ballina that seem to get a good wrap. I have two mates who have had them for many years. One was towed on a two month Kimberly trip that included some decent tracks.

No affiliation with Lightweight Campers.

Hi Greg

We have had Light Weight Campers for 8 years, upgraded in 2005, 3 of our friends also have them and we have done trips to Kimberley, Cape York, Darwin,
Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, all with no problems, we love our set up which all
we have to do when we go away is pack some food & clothes basic set up in a couple of minutes full set up with awning & walls 20 minutes including a couple
of refreshments!!
Cheers

Hi Greg,
If you want something really light then have a look at these Pacific Aluminium Trailers

My Vision weighs 650 kgs empty and with 240 ltrs of water and fully loaded it comes in under 1200kgs which is lighter than a Kimberly camper empty. Price range of the Vision from $30000 to $50000.
There is room for a portaloo in the tent that drops down from the back door that opens up and it fits inside where the steeps go when travelling ( Well thats were I store mine)
