Gidday all,

We are currently Travelling Oz and need to stop for work again (bummer) we were headed to Darwin, however parks availability and affordability have got us concerned (we are travelling with 2 kids parks charge heaps extra for kids), we figure it would be hard to save money if accomm costs are real high.

Matt generally works whilst I home School the kids - he is a mechanic and has an MR licence (7yrs years driving tow trucks) he would prefer a driving job.

Anyone here know what the job situation is like in Kununurra?

Cheers
Caz

Ask the RAC depot there, it used to be Kimberely Exhaust and Spring. They had 3 tilt trays when I worked there .
He should have no problems getting work as a mechanic, I went there to work in the small crops but backpackers work for $1/hr so finished up going back to my trade.

Best time of the year to go too

Accomodation wasn't real cheap there either though.

and....... we've heard while travelling in such regions, that asking staff face-to-face in the actual business premises is likely to turn up a lot more opportunities than can be found at business / tourism centres / bulletin boards etc. Hell ........ it even works for caravan park spaces in busy towns - turn up in person works much better than phoning ahead.
One thing...... 'a motor mechanic' might have to sneak out of town in the middle of the night if you ever want to leave :-o). Same for good cooks / chefs .......... Great place is Kununurra.... especially that rum distillery :-o).
