I think that Rock Melon is by far the best bait for Red Claw.

We found they eat just about anything. We used cheap dog pellets and lucerne pellets to attract them and had avocado or partly cooked sweet potato in the net to keep them there. We got some monsters in the last few days at Fairbairn Dam near Emerald.

Hey Chris, I'm going to be up that way in a couple of weeks. Any spots you can recommend? I'll have a tinny with me, but would prefer just throwing some pots in from the bank.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Geoff

People (locals??) constantly raid any pots put in along the shore near the caravan park. Use your tinny and put them in amongst the dead trees in the lake. We went 10kms across the lake to our spot. There are plenty of people in the caravan park willing to help you with where and how to go about it. If it is any use to you, our pots were at 23 41.139 S, 147 59.926 E. This area was 10 - 12ft deep.

Chris, thank you very much.

A reply like the one you just gave is what makes this forum stand out above all others. I'll use your waypoint to get me in the general location, but won't put them in right on top of you as I wouldn't want to ruin a "good thing".

Again, thank you.
Geoff
