Yeap slow here when all other site open fast.

Find it worse when you try opening more then one post at a time, it hangs and doesn't open.

This is the only site I have this problem with.

We tried the same thing and got the same results as you did.

this website has huge bandwidth and is slow compared to others. You can filter much of the bandwidth gobbling and permanent graphics by using IE7pro www.ie7pro.com Only works on IE7 and does a great job to reduce the data download.

Standard IE caching should be suitable to cover any recurring similar graphic & script downloads - We test and tune the footprint all the time. In fact we have recently reduced the download footprint of the forum pages by using a number of AJAX components. Anyway if these product works for you then that is great also.

Good as gold here, although about a month ago it was slow for me. Seems to be working more quickly now. I am on IE7

There is certainly something going on and I have been working my way through the logs and trying a few tuning updates (yesterday morning we tried a load of different settings all resulted in slower response). I have had to throttle the server down a little to try to collect some performance base line information which I hope to have today and then I will be in a better position to make suitable longer term changes.

There is also a very noticeable general Internet latency which usually occurs around school holiday times that is at play.

Anyway I am working on it.

My experience is not that the site itself is slow but that the waiting times to open it are sometimes long during periods of high traffic.

This can occur when opening new threads, returning to the index, etc.

Happening to me the same way - often going to another site and coming back may fix the problem. The worst occurrence is if I use the back button rather than the Forum button when going back to the Forum index. Might as well go away and make a hot chocolate if I do that... And drink it.

Using a Mac with Safari, so not platform dependant it seems.

look here Louie, this page (to get to post this follow up) took just on a minute to open so what do you mean "not life threatening"
...i might as well be dead cos every minute I spend enjoying myself on the computer is, as far as someone is concerned ,wasting my time, and just gets me deeper into the poo with swmbo.... :))

Mainey, you timed it? Get a life man. You ought to be out catching some more of those big fish instead of on the puter. lol

At 1700 hrs it took 15sec to load this answer.
However I have had the same trouble as others IE. Sometimes really slow and sometimes quick, its a bit erratic.
Other sites are still reasonable quick when this one is slow.
But like Loui the fly I have learnt to live with it.

As Tojo Says Bugger.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.
