For a number of years now we have been reading this site, and using the trader section. I thought I would we would become a member's again tonight, but I can't seem to see where I "checkout" with my shopping basket. When we were members last time I did it, but I'm totally lost how to do it this time. I must be getting older, and blinder. Anyway I will go and have another go and see if I can get past the free bumper sticker bit. Karen.

Hi Karen,
I had the same problem ..... no "Checkout" button visible.
I am running on an Apple Mac.
Checked that cookies were enabled ... yep, enabled.
Then it occurred to me that maybe it was the Apple "Safari" browser causing the problem. So I opened the "Firefox" browser and behold ... a Checkout button appeared ! Immediately placed a Shop Order and it worked.

So, what browser are you using? Firefox can be downloaded for free.

As no one else is complaining I guess that Microsoft Internet Explorer works OK.
Its just that Apple don't want users to buy anywhere other than the Apple Shop.

Cheers

Thanks Allan. I am on an Apple Mac as well. But that does not help cause I dont know how to download that Fire fox. I will play with it a bit more and see how I go. I am not really a wiz on these computers and this new Mac has really baffled me. There is so many thinks this doesn't do that my windows PC did. I will have another go. But thanks for your help.

Karen, Aha, Apple Mac .... I was right (for once!)

In Google, type "firefox download", in the Results open www.mozilla.com/firefox/ (should be the first Result) then click on "Firefox 3 Free Download" and follow the instructions.

After firefox downloads, drag it into your Dock, then open it and go to ExploreOz.
In the shop you should see the Checkout button.

Don't worry, you will get familiar with your Mac and you will come to love it.

Cheers

That's great Karen,

I still use Safari for general use as I prefer all things "Apple", but will switch to the Firefox browser as needed.

And we look forward to "putting up with you"!

Thanks Doug, but I guess my computer does not want us to join Exploroz. I still cannot find the checkout button and I have been at this for over 2 hours now. I think I will just leave it and not become a member. But thanks anyway, I will go and put my credit card back now............lol.

Easy Karen,
Click on the little House logo at the top of the page, in your "My Home" page click on "Edit Profile", in the "Screen Name" box type your desired name then click on "Update" lower down. .... all done!

Doug, You really need to read posts more carefully. Are you deaf? lol

Karen and I were both clearly saying that the CHECKOUT button simply does not appear after selecting and BUYING items.

The problem is with the Apple Safari browser but can be overcome by using the Firefox browser as I and Karen have found and posted.

But thank you for your efforts even if confusing!

Karen,

When you add the item to the cart in Safari does it appear in the list of items or can you only see the sticker. I am trying to work out if the system adds the item or not as it it the adding of the item that triggers the cart button?

Thanks

David,

Been waiting for Karen to respond but getting itchy to add my "two bob's worth."

In Safari, when you click on "ADD TO CART" there is a "reaction" in the Shopping Cart Panel and the page refreshes but nothing is added to the Cart and the "CHECKOUT" button does not appear.

In Firefox, when you click on "ADD TO CART" the page refreshes, the selected item is added to the cart, and the "CLEAR CART", "UPDATE CART", and "CHECKOUT" buttons appear. The rest of the transaction process then proceeds OK.

I made sure the Cookies were enabled in Safari and in fact saw the ExplorOz cookie in Safari's cookie list. It seems to be a problem between Apple Safari and ExplorOz.

Regards,

Cheers

Allan,

Does your auto logon function work in your version of Safari? It writes the cookie in th esame way as the shop does so wondering if it is the cookie or whether your system just does not get the the URL - Also please try this test URL - It should add something to th ecart and take you to the shop home page - this will tell me if you are getting to the add to cart page or not -

Shop Test (with Debug turned on)

When you run this you will go back to the shop with page debugging turned on so the returned page will look strange - can you copy and paste the text at the top of the screen into an email and send it to me david@exploroz.com and also see if the cart which may be showing in a weird spot (due to debugging) has the item in it?

Thanks
David

Hi David. With the help of Allan, we are now a member. I think it is Mac that had the problem. I downloaded Fire Fox as Allan said to do and then my checkout button was there. I tried for over 2 hours and finally got on the forum, and Allan give me instructions to fix it. But thanks for replying anyway, it was me after all.
Karen.

Karen,

It is not you - it is a Safari problem on MACs (not all Safari either just some).

Allan,
Thanks for the information can you do me another favor - Can you clear your cookies and try the test again? If you do not want to clear all cookies please clear everything in the cookies folder that has exploroz in it there should be several. I have added some more information to the debugger also so please copy and paste again.
