hi all
I unbolted one end of the steering damper just to
check it (landcruiser105)
if there is 20mm free movement before I feel any resistance does this tell me it has had it ?
are the tough dog return to centre units ok- for $165 delivered from 4wd1 on ebay
thanks
mik

Hi Mik
I'm not sure but if you have free spot the damper may be us.
I replaced the damper on my 80 series with a return to centre unit from 4wd1.
I was not real certain if
mine was stuffed so i replaced it anyway as they look very good and you can never have enough bling.LOL
It did help with the wheel to return to centre.
A little bit fiddly to set up, and not as easy job to remove to old one from the drag link very hard to get a good positive hit at the fitting with out the right tools, with out having to remove to much other stuff.
On another
forum LCOOL there was some talk about them. some say they put extra strain on your power steering? or do Sweet F A?

Just replaced my damper.
Get the special tool from Super Cheep to push the stubs out, I tried with hammers, heating etc but this tool did it no trouble.
