I am looking at replacing the small 1 inch Halogen globes (reading lamps) in my Coromal Van with these http://www.ledshoponline.com/G4_LED_bulb.htm
was wondering if anyone else has tried these and are they the correct ones.

G'day Fergy

I have replaced most of the 12V Halogen lights in my Coromal with 12V LED light cluster units, they are the same two pin set up as the Halogen lights, but give a softer blue~ish light, but I have retained the Halogen lights in the range hood, as the blue~ish LED light gave the food being cooked at the time a strange (visual ) look.
The on board battery monitor for the Solar charging system, definitely shows a reduced output from the batteries with the LED's as opposed to the Halogens when used.
The LED's are as dear as poison compared to the Halogen globes, but there have not been any failures in 3 years with the LED's.

Regards.

- you need to make sure you get "Warm White" LEDs rather than "Natural" or "Daylight" to avoid this bluish light.

Fergy, I replaced the original bulns with these and they are brighter, they just plug in. Make sure you have G4 though and get the more expensive ones at the bottom of that page.

G4 regers to the distance between the leads. The bulbs are usnally a small bulb shape with two pins.

If you have the standard downlights ( MR10, MR16, Gu5.3) then these wont fit.
