Any reports on road conditions on this part of our trip next week - is the detour in operation between
Birdsville and
Bedourie?

Birdsville to
Bedourie is 179 klms - over half of which is now bitumen - the bypass via
Lake Machattie is not needed now (although it is a good drive) and you will find plenty of birdlife at the Cuttaburra half way along. From
Bedourie to
Boulia is 200 klms and about 120 klms of that, possibly more, is now bitumen.
