Just completed the track from Hyden to Coolgardie in early July 09. Camped at Sandalwood Rocks, has been burnt outbut regrowth is coming along. We did it in 2 days and felt we were travelling to fast, there was 5 vehicles in our party. For a large group like this I recommend 3 days for this section so you can see more.

Hi Lisjoe,

We are looking at doing the track around Christmas time and am wondering whether it is doable with a camper trailer behind us. It's one of those Cormal Jayco style campers. If it's not doable we will just have to leave it somwhere, do the track and then go and pick it up again.

Any other advise specific to this track would also be greatly appreciated.

It might be a bit tight for the camper as the scrub was hitting my Pajero most of the time. If the camper has a wider wheel track then you might do a lot of tyres. It could be hot out there at christmas time as well.
