According to that site someone claims it is dead? I must say IMO it doesn't do anything for me. It has been a long time coming and makes you wonder?

From my understanding this new Nissan Patrol = new Infiniti QX and the Armada = dead. Its not supposed to be replaced. They're likely going to discontinue it.

I think they are implying that the Armada and Infinti are dead in the US market and that this new Patrol/vehicle (or a version of it) will replace them in the USDM - they also infer this by saying that the Titan (which shared an Armada chassis etc) will now use a Dodge underpinning and as such there is no platform for the Armada (except this new Patrol variant).

These photos are somewhat different to the shots leaked in December - maybe there are 2 variants floating around for different markets sharing floor pans or similar ?

Cheers

That's even uglier than the other "new Patrol"; think I'll keep my 4.2TD

Mentally taking off the camouflage, this looks almost exactly like that silver thing that popped up from the Middle East a few months ago.

This looks like final testing with "Muffin" (obscure joke about dressed up mules from car engineer boys)

As a bit of a brag and also provide some context, I was lucky to "assist" in some testing of Ford Focus mules in Tenerife almost a decade ago now. UK registered focus mules with pap-tint windows and all whistles had been shipped in with one in "civvies" and the other in full "Muffin" ensemble with camo etc. No need for camo as it was launched and a drive-train exercise - it was just a mule with new running gear that no-one could be bothered spending two days removing the camo from.

Anyway... a couple of UK registered Focus cars with bits hanging off them, one with camo and both with nobbers playing around with laptops and stuff meant plenty of unwanted attention from car-spotters. We even made Auto-Express but they were miles off on their speculation.

Why Tenerife? Altitude testing and calibration. You can get from sea level to 3000 odd metres in under an hour. Which helps if you want to test and cal the *inferred* barometric pressure. Yeah, the cost of putting baro sensors on certain Focus models was offset by sending goons to Tenerife to infer it from engine burn characteristics. You kids with your OBD-II don't know you're born ;)

Bored yet?
