Hi, i am not at all electronically minded but was wondering it would be a good idea if i could wire the electric windows to my alarm so when i arm it the window that i so often leave down will be automaticlly wound up?
Is this feasable without too much hassle?
Patrol owners may have noticed that there is no 20-30sec period after turning the truck off that allows you to wind up the windows.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Mike, there was a kit or doo hicky put out by Jaycar or similar to do exactly what you want. I will try and find a link for you. John

Mike, don't follow that link, for some reason it doesn't work. But if you go to the Jaycar website and put in the Cat number, it will take you to it. Kept me occupied for half an hour, lol. Have fun and let us all know if it works..........

do make sure you dont leave your only key in the ignition and close the door and then have the auto arm function set !

I have this in my Mercedes work van (I have a delivery run for a major freight company). Works off the immobiliser/door lock switch on the key. Only thing is if you have an alarm fitted it may need some special wiring - if the windows go up after the alarm is armed, it may set the alarm off.
Other than that it works a treat.

I just had a Rhino alarm fitted and at the last minute I asked the installer to install this feature and he just took off my drivers door trim and installed a black box or was it two ?that he spliced into the Elec windows main harness I think it cost about $50 to $80 extra ,in summer I can adjust my windows for air flow then press the window lock button and its all still armed ,just make sure you don't get a cheapy that winds all 4 windows at once as they have been known to draw allot of current and heat up the wiring ,
mine does one at a time.
Cheers.
