Was having trouble loading maps from DAST to SD card so uninstalled DAST from laptop and when I went to reload it, it gets to 82% loaded then freezes and an error comes up"Failed to load Ini files" and then the instilation closes.I have tried this on a couple of computers and get the same result.
Question, Is this a know fault? and is there a download that will fix it? or is it a case or throw the disc away and purchase a new one.Ive had it a few years now but it does what I want.
Thanks guys

If you still have proof of purchase they should help you sort it out or replace it. At least ask them, the worst that can happen is that they say no! Worth a try anyway.

As you said you "tried on a couple of computers", I would suggest it was the DAST S/W installation at fault.
Go back to them and ask for assistance.

I wondered at first if perhaps it was unsuitable for Vista, so I just installed it on my laptop. It installed fine (DAST v 1.00).
My guess is that your CD is corrupted somehow.
There are downloads on the torrent sites. You could download it and use your own CD key. I can't see any problem with the legality of that as you already have your own legal copy.

Hi
1.Also make sure you use the uninstall program on the disc to remove DAST, not via control panel.....then
2. Make sure you do a FULL install when given the option during installation process.
May solve your problem..may not.
Cheers

Hiya Nicko
DAST is only maps not software.
Not sure how your doing it,You can connect through or if you havnt got it download Mapsend Lite, also get into habit of turning off antivirus when installing software,if you know its from a trusted place, then put maps onto SD with GPS connected using Mapsource,or you can put SD in Laptop with slot and transfer, dont forget the card is serial number connected to the GPS if you know what i mean...Would try my first suggestion first...
Last thought is depending on Antivirus used it may pay to turn it off first...

"DAST is only maps not software. "
I think you will find Nicko is referring to V1 of DAST ...which is software and maps - came on a CD.
