Thiose who have driven the route recently can you rell me whether there is much spinifex on the main track and side tracks? Do vehicles need a screen over the radiator?

Hi Jabberwocky,

Was on the CSR a few weeks ago and saw many vehicles without a screen.

We travelled South from Well 51 down to Well 33 and I don't consider the main track to be too bad regarding spinifex.

Having said that, should you decide to go off the beaten track, for whatever reason, it is much easier to clean and monitor a screen than it is to clean a radiator.

Enjoy your time on the CSR, much to see and do.

Cheers
Michael

We will be out on the Canning from the 5th or 6th of August, and I wil chuck in some shadecloth, and as I get there will set up a screen the day before.

Rather replace the screen than un-clog the radiator.

The thing is that you never know till it's too late, so prevention is better than cure, and a lot less stressfull.
Cheers

Hi,

Have just returned from doing the CSR, south to North and although I took some shadecloth to make a screen there was no where on the track that required its use.

I hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

Regards
