In October the good wife and I are travelling with a group of 4wd club mates from Gilgandra to Rossmore Station, near
Bourke and am looking for any
camping along the way. We were going via
Walgett, but no campsites around there apparantly. Any suggestions welcome.

I tried to submit an answer to this tread earlier, but for some reason my PC froze (must be the weather down south... lol..).... had links and everything for you. Sorry, not going to search for them again.
Anyway, google
Walgett Shire Council, and that site talks about
camping along the two rivers there. Doesn't give details though, so I suggest you contact them. There are also some farm stays in the area, but difficult to find info. All the best.
