The only place on your list we have stayed at is Pt
Augusta at the big 4.
It was a desolate windswept place and we were kept awake by the trains that start shunting at about 3 am and delight in blowing their whistles all night.
Best of Luck

Hi Julie - this is another Julie from Vic as
well - We went across in '05 - stayed at several
places - some of them -
Port Augusta - Big 4 - we didn't have problem with shunting trains - nice
park, close to town - easy to find - Nullabor roadhouse - gravel - but ok (we had camper trailer - didn't unhook overnight stops - Kalgoorlie - Big 4 - nice
park - can be cold at night though -
Eucla - windy - Loxton - prefer
Morgan - ig you are coming back into Vic via Renmark/
Mildura - stay at Buronga in NSW just over the river from
Mildura city - on the river - lots of room, and very relaxed and quiet.
happy travelling =-

Hi Julie,
Looks like a good trip!
I can recommend Happy Days Caravan
Park for a nice place near
Albany (~7km north of the town). Has older but
well-kept ablutions and is right on the river - very pleasent setting.
For
Esperance, we have not stayed in the down but the sites at
Cape Le Grand national park are great. There's a decent solar hot
water system for showers too.
Lucky Bay has larger, open sites for caravans but we preferred the smaller sites at
Cape le Grand beach. Need to pay fees to the Dept. Environment and Conservation through.

There's also a nice place to stop at Mason Bay, west of
Esperance, too. It's listed under '
places' here.
Quion Head in Fistgerald River National
Park is a nice secluded spot too, with a steep entry track (no problem for a 4WD). Have fond memories of that place - we say a huge pod of pilot whales come into the bay for a birth when I was last there ~15 years ago!
Gracetown caravan
park near
Hamelin Bay gets my vote as the best caravan
park in the Margaret River area. We've always seen joeys, possums, etc when staying there.
Cheers,
Tristan

Hi Julie
Streaky Bay a great
park with top amenities.
Just a word of caution A site away from the trees will keep your equipment free of bird droppings as the birds congregate there.
Fowlers Bay is a great place just off the beaten track A simple liitle
park with great fishing off the local jetty 150 metres away.
If you like cats the resident moggie is Fowler

Mannum , east side , .5 km south of the ferry...free and good clean
toilets , plenty of free camps across the Nullabor...the Camps book is a good investment for travellers wanting to save some cash...cheers

Hi Julie
Two really good books I recommend for WA are 'Priceless Campsites and Rest Areas In the North of Western Australia' and 'Priceless Campsites and Rest Areas in the South of Western Australia' by Jan Holland. Available from most bookstores.
Just north of the
Kalbarri turn off (from NWCH) is the Galena Bridge. You can access
camping areas on both sides of the bridge, and the
Murchison River is always flowing.
There are quite a few van parks in
Geraldton if you decide to stop. I'm not sure which one is best, but there is one near me (I think a Big 4) in Sunset Beach, or further along past the 440 Gull Roadhouse, the
Drummond Cove Holiday
Park.
Regards
Kym
