H folks. My question is did Nissan sell this model in Australia with factory fitted turbo? If so is there any service manuals which detail the turbo and also the wiring diagrams for that year? Many thanks.

No they didn't. The first Nissan 4.2 turbo was the GU in 1999.

Sorry, while the motor was designed to be turboed, Nissan never did sell the turbo version in Australia. Shame

I wouldn't think there would be too many differences between models. IE: you should be able to utilise a Gregorys or Haynes workshop manual from the TD42 Patrol. The only thing that wouldn't be covered would be the turbo; I could be wrong I spose.

Thanks Roachie. Yes I have the Gregorys up to 93 year. As you say no turbo stuff and the wiring is somewhat different. Is there much difference in the first Y61 model? Cheers Pat.

I have a Gregorys (I think it is) for the Y61 so if you have any specific questions, fire away and I'll see if I can answer them.......

Sorry, I meant to add that you would be
well advised to get onto the Patrol4x4.com
forum too....What the blokes on there don't know, isn't worth knowing.....

Ok. Thanks. Does the manual discuss the turbo and how to adjust and measure boost etc. Also my Safari has a sensor on the right side of radiator near the top. What is it?? I suspect a coolant level indicator but if so it is not working ! Thanks for any comments. Cheers Pat

Footwall,
Could that sensor be an air-con cut-out sensor to cut the a/c when things get hot under the collar? The GU's have them but are down the bottom of the radiator if I remember right.
Cheers Trevor.
