Looking to tow a 22' Van behind a Navara ST-X on the above route in October.
Has anyone done it with a large van or anyone any info that might help?

Passed through that way two weeks ago. Roads were a combination of sealed and unsealed and all in good condition.
Towing a van shouldn't cause any problems however would check closer to your trip.

I went through there 2 weeks ago (without a van) and it would be an easy drive for you. We passed plenty of vehicles towing vans and plenty of 2WDs as
well.
If you need a break half way there stop at the
Packsaddle Roadhouse. Very friendly and a nice shady spot (there aren't many on that stretch of road).
Good Luck
Ben

Drove that road Saturday 19 July and the road was all good with the exception of a 1-2km section that was extremely rough stoney surface near the
Milparinka turnoff. Probably about 65% of the road is now sealed.
We towed a small Coromal Compac 402 behind a Forester, slowed right down for the really rough bits and the rest was OK, this is a normal on-road van.
Packsaddle is a must do stop for a break and they serve great hamburgers.
