Gday,
Does anyone know how to suppress the advertising?
I did a search and the old way was to check the box on the bottom of the add....but its gone?
The problem I am having is I just went into someones profile, clicked "send Message" and the message box comes up under the add and I cant get rid of it!....Grrrrr

Cheers

It's not there when I send messages, but I use Firefox 3.5 as my browser not IE.

Spooky $hit!!!!
I just clicked on you profile Mainey......Then on "send message" and the member message box pops up in front of the add.
Then I tried Marks....and the add comes up in front of the message box? So when you try to type something, you cant see what youve written because the writting behind the add??????

Grrrr............
I just tried Maineys again, and the adds in front again. The creek family add seems to be the problem!

I have the ad blocked like Mark shows. I have clicked on send message for all three of you and there is no ad. And I am using IE8

Hairy I tried that and same result. Then went back to forum and clicked suppress button, and add went bye bye there and on send MM page. I've only got the suppress button when I actually open a thread. Maybe that's how it is???????????

When I go to the Forum start page the add is there with no suppress check box to tick.
When I open a thread there is no add...just the suppress box with a tick in it.
When I go into someones profile, the adds back!

Got me buggered.....just means I cant send MM's.......Your safe for a while KIM! LOL

Sounds like a job for David.... he's out of the office so no chance of any resolutions today folks sorry. Can you live with it for a day or so? I'll make sure he knows of it - probably some easy fix his end or yours, I have no ideas sorry can't help further.

Why is it that some headers come up with

Member----name and some only come up with the name of the poster.

Who as I look through the list is a member.

Graham,

Do you mean like my header??

If it is, then you can edit you name to remove the "Member" part of it if you want. Just go to your home page and edit your profile.

Cheers Kev

I just tried this with all of the people mentioned in this thread and found that if you use the "send message" link on the message page, then it works without the ad coming up.

However, if you go to the members profile page first and THEN click on the "send message" link, the ad will come up in front of the message box, as HAIRY (NT) posted.

This may help David narrow it down to where the problem may be.
