Hi All. Just an update on the trip to
Cape York. Made it to
Weipa from
Laura.
Had a look around and decided to do the
Mine Tour. Started of
well, until we got to the Causeway. Coach decides that it didn't want to go any further. Return to Town. Good tour of the town though. Leaving tomorrow for Cape. Can anyone suggest the best
camp site around
Bamaga. Regards Steve...

Steve
I'm in
Bamaga now, have been here for a few days. After checking out all the local
camp grounds around the top of the Cape, Loyalty Beach (just north of
Seisia) looks like the best to me, followed by
Seisia. I was not impressed by
Punsand Bay, even less by Umagacio.
Hope that helps.

I like
seisia because it is a stones throw from the jetty ( good fishing) After a few days in the bush it's good to go and have a nice meal at the restaurant. The managers are great to talk to & can give you a intimate insight into the local day to day goings on.
Maybe its'just habit but while up last year I checked out the other camps & I still prefer
Seisia

Steve, if you are looking for a freeby with no facilities, try Wroonga Point or Muttee Head. Both beautiful spots.
Cheers,
Peter
