Need to run cables from engine compartment into cabin of my dog's new 2008 Narvara D-40 d/cab for spotties switch for relay (a real one and not those throw away little black ones) and new model mini GME UHF. Should not have to drill holes. Anyone got a clue where to sneak the wires through? Re-cycled my you beaut Polar antenna from my last rig. Got Navara as my dog wanted a pickup so all I have to do is pay for it. He got jack of being locked up in our beautiful Jeep Cherokee XJ t/diesel of 103,000kms,so it is on the market as Mr Jeep was taking too long to come up with a dual cab pickup. Seems they should get a new market research crew.

Ho RockyOne
Not sure of the firewall set up on the Nissan, but with all my Pajeros and my Prado, there should be a large rubber grommet that has all of the wires for all the inside of the cars power. Find that location and use that instead of drilling. Just follow your wiring loom, say from your head lights and it will lead you to the correct location.

Happy Grommet Locating.

Cheers

Hi,

In the engine bay, check the passenger side of the firewall - below the fuse box, a large rubber grommet and you can just get at it from the inside when you take the trim and glove box out. I've run the CB / phone ext aerial and various relay wires through there - in a D40. When I put the wire in I ran a couple extra pairs at the same time - for later use.

Thanks SL & RL for tips..I was trying to take easy way out and auto leccy to do it,but they are all (and we have lots of them) booked out. (Hard to have a decent recession) So looks like another DIY job. I mostly use a long 'Zip' tie pull my 'snake' cable through, which pulls the main bundle (including a couple of spares as you mentioned). The non-conductive zip tie means I should'nt cop a air (gas) bag in the kisser. Sat morning,so I will give it a go this arvo and post my results. Thanks again guys.
