We are presently on the latter stages of a 3 month trip & heading south. Will be at
Warwick in a few days & we want to go across to Casino. Would like to have a look around Killarney & then go to Casino. Looking at maps there seems to be 2 ways - (a) via Bonalbo , or (b) via Kyogle. We are towing an 18ft pop top. Can anyone give me any idea on these roads and how caravan friendly? Seems they are all bitumen.
Thanks, Willy

i recently towed my old caravan (13ft Millard poptop from the early 70's) from
Brisbane through
Beaudesert, out to
Rathdowney, then onto Woodenbong Urbenville, Bonalbo and down to the Bruxner Hwy before turning right and heading to Rover
Park just before
Tenterfield.
the stretch of road between
Rathdowney and Woodenbong is good but windey, some of it closer to woodenbong has recently been resealed. i think the stretch between Woodenbong and Urbenville was also not to bad from memory, but the run from Urbenville to Bonalbo is quite bumpy and potholed. in hindsight i was probably driving it abit to quickly (actually i was driving it way to quickly), and paid the price with loosing a cupboard door off of our pantry and spilling some stuff over the floor, luckily it was just sugar which cleaned up easily enough.
the road straight through to Kyogle will definately be more caravan friendly, but if you take your time then the road through to Bonalbo will be alot more scenic, i really did enjoy the veiws along that stretch, even with a few minor disasters. i'm not sure what the road is like heading east along the Bruxner, heading west towards
Tenterfield it gets quite windey and hilly.
