Out There
In September I'll be taking the camper trailer along the
Darling River Run from Burke down to the lakes. Does anyone know any spots that are a must see while we are doing it. We will be taking about two weeks so there should be plenty of time to do what we want.
Any information will be accepted with gratitude.

Hi Out There:
Might see you 'on the road". My wife and I are also going to travel the
Darling River run in September. No start date yet, due to unfinalised social arrangements.
We are leaving from Cessnock and heading to
Brewarrina, then south. As is our usual custom, we will spend a few extra days at Menindee/Kinchega. We love it there.
We travel in an 80 Series Landcruiser. No trailer.
Cheers

Hi Outthere,
We just arrived home tonight from doing the
Darling river run and Cameron's corner, my suggestions are to
camp at
Bourke and wills campground at
menindee,
Tilpa weir, take a days run into
Silverton. Have fun. The road was good if you can take a canoe all the better.

We are just back from our run down the Darling 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately rain saw us make it out of
Kinchega National Park just in time, however the roads were closed to
Pooncarie, so did not get to Mungo.
We stayed at Trilby Station (near
Louth) which was fantastic - camped on the river and plenty of firewood for $30 per vehicle.
The campground near Wilga in the paroo darling National
park looked good but we didn't have time to stop overnight. No wood fires, but BBQs are provided.
We are keen to get back and fdo the Kinchega and Mungo parts of the trip.

G'day out there
Can also recommend Idalia Station (relatives of Trilby Station), and altho' we didn't stay there, Kinchega NP looked a top spot.
Give
Bourke a few days too. There's a mud map available from the Info Centre and it has about 3-4 days of local excursions. A popular CP is at
North Bourke - Kidman Cabin and Caravan
park or a name close to that.
Have a good trip.
Cheers
John

Thanks for the replies. You have confirmed my thoughts that this is a good idea. Seems to be a good time of year as
well.
I did read the link but decided that local knowledge is probably more to the point.
Thanks again.
