I’ve not met this fella face to face which is a real pity, but had a few conversations over the phone.

He offered up his property about 19kms north of Coonabarabran to camp on.

It was a joy to settle down in the bush after many days of driving up north.

Bush camping is something I enjoy, without restrictions, but it’s interesting how much care you take in respecting a man’s property in this situation.

I said to the mate, ‘don’t you leave anything in our passing’.

So Fred, I want to thank you for you’re hospitably in allowing us the trust to enter your property.

Very much appreciated mate, and I hope to have a beer with you sometime in the future.

Regards

Kim

Gidday Oz

Hang on a minute mate, we roped and strung up four B Doubles to the second left tree.

Give a couple of blokes their few due for a bit of effort.....!

Fred’s going to have enough diesel to power his hair dryer for the next six years.

LOL

Kim, I'm so glad I am able to share our patch of Oz with those who appreciate the bush, and it is virgin bush, if you can put the sound of B-doubles going about their business up and down the Newell H'wy out of your mind, which isn't too hard up there under crystal clear winter skies, freezing cold, but a campfire of unlimited proportions to keep you cosy.
Our camp was vandalised a few weeks before your visit, and we cleaned up as best we could, and still have work to do to repair the caravans. The mongrels who did this will not stop us enjoying our bush camp.
I am making this property available to any MEMBERS travelling the Newell, just MM me for details. Plenty of fresh water, long drop, shelter, close to Warrumbungles, Coonabarabran etc, and it is totrally FREE.
Kim, it's yours anytime mate.
PS Don't worry about the wood heap mate, I stocked up in preparation for your stay.

Fred, when your not on the road sometime, maybe put on an open day to EO members (member gathering) to share your bit of paradise with them and meet first hand some of the people you are offering your place too.

I think you will be surprised by the takers AND you can have a work bee while they are there, to help restore the place to it's former beauty.

Just a thought mate, I am sure a lot of members would love to come and give you a hand, and this would help you gain some trust in them for any future use by them of your bit of paradise.
Cheers Colin.

Yep Fred, I agree with Collen and you know a working bee has to be one of the best ways to break the ice when you don't know anyone and its hardly considered working when your out in Gods County and enjoying the bush ,Oh and if I remember right I think I remember a post about your kids getting back from a trip and found the place in ruins, it just breaks your hart knowing that there are people out there that just don't know when there on a good thing ,
well at least we know there are nice people out there just like most of the people on E/O LOL!

Cheers.
