Hi there, Bill & Pam. We did the same last year (11 weeks April to July, from Adelaide).
Quick answer is there were kennels at Kununurra and Derby. Dog OK at Lake Argyle and Derby (Kimberley Entrance CP), difficult at Kununurra (only one CP may take dogs) and impossible at Broome (except for Roebuck Plains Roadhouse [not to be confused with Roebuck Plains CP which did not take dogs]. We have heard that the Broome showgrounds is only open when every other CP is full, but if one CP (none of which which take dogs) is not full, then you can't take a spot at the showground. We have joined the ranks of the many who DIDN'T LIKE BROOME!!
Dog OK at Port Smith CP.
Ref Bungles: we were at Lake Argyle; left van there fora few days; left dog in kennels at Kununurra; tented in Purnululu (Bungles Bungles). Big effort, but totally worth it!!
We just could not work out a way to handle Cape Leveque, so we abandoned the whole idea.
We also had problems with ticks - big problems - constant checking and removing the little biuggers. We actually found a couple on Lexie at Streaky Bay on the way home!!
Hope this helps.

You need to be constantly aware of the presence of 1080 poison baits laid to kill wild dogs, cats etc. It is very fast acting and there is no antidote. They can be found anywhere throughout the pastoral areas. Sometimes there are warning signs other times not so. Many domestic dogs arer killed by these baits. Well known outback character Malcom Douglas apparently lost one of his dogs to baits.

Hi Bill,
In Kununurra you can stay at the Show Grounds if you have a dog. Plenty of room to walk & the facilities were ok. Broome is difficult as the PCYC is the only park that will take dogs & that is only used if the caravan parks are full. There are a couple of private places who take caravans & dogs but I haven't got any details of them.
