To all of the Members that have given me assistance along the way. After 4460 Kms, I am almost there. I left
Weipa Friday Morning. Travelled up to Bramwell
Junction. Great bunch of people in the Kiosk. Rested for half an hour and the set off again. They did warn me about the bad corrugations about Sixty Kms north. What a nightmare. nearly run off the road a couple of times by Some nice B*****this that had made the trip and were in a hurry to get to somewhere else. Thought they were on the Black Top again..The bad corrugations were as mentioned, BAD. Made it through and arrived at the
Jardine Ferry at Five Forty. Camped for the night. Set off this morning and I am now at Loyalty Beach. I will make this my base for a few days, for a rest. Going to the Cape and Ti, before heading back. Thank again for all the help along the way. Steve...

Great to hear all is going
well. Bramwell was a great stopp and very friendly.
The croc tent near
the tip is another good place for info. Have fun for the rest of the trip, I'm getting itchy again feet just reading your post. Can you do me a favour, throw a line in off the
Seisia jetty, my favourite fishing spot.
enjoy
Josh

Steve - There is 2 ways to do corrugations. Ist way is as slow as it takes and the second is at a speed where you sit on top of them. The locals and some others choose the later. The problem is if you are going slow you do not particularly like others flying past you. The person going over the top of the corrugations can not slow every time they see a slow driver, slowing down across the corrugations is difficult. There are corrugations that slow is the only way.
As I worked up there for years and always had to be somewhere else, I was one of those B******* to a few people I presume. Even now I choose the on top of option.
The way I see it if you choose the slow option all you have to do is indicate you are going to pull over and there is no problems, the faster driver will give you a wide berth and try not to spray you with the afterburn :-)
Towing a trailer is different all should slow down to avoid stones being deflected from the trailer when traveling at speed. Trailers in my experience did all the damage to my windscreens on the PDR.
What I found up there last time I went is there is a lot of people who think they should police the speed and will not let the faster car go past, can not figure that one, let them go and they will be out of your way before you know it. Hope the trip is all you expected. Cheers Tony
