Mate

Frame it and Nissan will buy it off you for sure.

It is certainly an object of art.

Cheers

Gday
I think that you have all gotten me wrong. It's the old nissan 3ltr petrol, not the 3ltr time bomb.

Iv'e got 380k on mine now and it's probably due for it's third Oil Change in the 7 years I have had it. I am also thinking it might need a new battery also as I put it in when I bought it and seems to be getting a bit slow now, but that is possibly due to winter and not driving it every day like I was.
It's an easy motor to start and a bit primitive in technology so that's possibly why it has lasted so long. I really only change the oil when I think of it and that's not often, and each time it is nice and sparkle free and fairly see through (not black). Still doesn't blow smoke and is fairly economical too.

Ya just gotta luv it. Mightn't be fast but it has always got there.

Cheers Cam

My neighbour has one of those Patrols with the RB30 engine. He's had it from new 1990 350 000km's and still going strong. A great car, very simple to maintain.

Gday George.
How are you and the child bride?
I like the picture of pussy and the little bit of writing.
I have just put poor little Gromit down after she took a liking to my 1 yo grand daughter's throat. A close call,no skin broken , but not with us any more after 14 years.

All good here, Murray, except it's too cold and too dry! I know what you mean about pets - they become like family, and it's a real pain when they die or have to be put down. We're pretty much grounded this year until Cam finishes his VCE. I've paid the last school fee bill, and am counting down the final four months!!

Where are you and Wes off to?

Im going for the million in my cruiser Muzbry, these older vehicles are so well built and easy to repair they are the best to tackle such a task.
At 720k im well on the way, and your nearly half way, so you have a few more trips to go yet, but she will make it LOL

G'day Pesty
I'm in the process of researching troopies to buy for extended travel.
It's a while since I was involved with Toyota and am unfamiliar with the later models. What year is your cruiser and in particular which motor is in your vehicle ?

Good morning Murray,
Mate the rb30 motor was one of the great petrol motors. Their was a report
on this site of a commodore that was on its original motor at 800000 plus ks. The other great motor is the 3.2 v6 in the Jack, quite a few of them arround with over 400000ks. Imho well built Petrol motors will now outlast the new hi tech 4 cylinder turbo diesels. One of the td couriers at work needed a new motor at 110ks. Cracked head.
Cheers Pete

Gday all
Well it doesn't pay to be nice to your car. After all the good thoughts and encouragement, the battery has collapsed .
Any way, RACV will be out in the morning with a new battery.
