I have decided to trade in and buy a HDJ78R troopcarrier.

I am looking for any feedback on fuel economy and if this model is coil sprung front end?

Many thanks

Hehehe

Mine's also 144,000km and 3.2T and I reckon 13.6 l/100k is about right!

I agree with Richard that we need to get out more. 50K in a 2005 troopy and counting down to retirement!

Hi, I get anywhere from 5.5 to 7.3 kms per litre depending on type of road and whether towing or not, and I have aroof rack on most of the time, bought it last year, and very pleased with it. Cheers Kanga1.

Thanks Richard,

They are good figures.

I have found one also a 93 model with 150K on the clock. Pretty stock but one owner and full service history asking $36000.

A bit of a premium I think but I guess it ticks all the boxes as far as a second hand vehicle goes.

I have noticed they hold their price really well.

There a good vehicle we have no problems with the Toyota just the people working on it.

The worst we have got is
5.97 l/km
16.88 mpg
16.74 l/100km

Cheers

Richard

Marco, I recently purchased a 2006 RV with 109,000km on the clock for $39K it was ex SES SA. That will give you an idea on pricing. The RV's are hard to come by.

Cheers

Yes 2003...

Hard to find in good condition. There are 2 on line now in Vic. Another issue is convincing the wife to like it.....

I have decided to just do it and she can deal with it later....

I have recently upgraded from the LN106R Hilux to the HDJ78R Trooper(with the 1HDdonk),, shoulda done it years ago. The 78 is a 2002 with 260,000 on the clock, and seems to sip along at 12L/100k, even trudgen up and down the hills of Tasmania. Havent tried it loaded and towing yet, off to Qld next year, will see.

About 13l/100klms is what you will get . Fully loaded and it will probably average out to 14 or 15 depending on the conditions .
