After Nissan put some crap gearbox oil in that caused the box to crunch gears I changed to Castrol VMX-80 in January and it's been like a new box. Nice smooth changes, no crunching, grinding, it's been great. But since winter it's been a pig to change gears and you have to rev and/or double clutch to change or have the engine revs in the right range to change gears.

So I'm after a recommendation for oil from someone has tried it and who lives in or near the snow etc.

Cheers,

Leroy

Just wait and Fly West will come up with some technical solutions for you. Maybe he has some "Snake Oil" recipes!!!

Castrol VMX-M. Designed for Mitsu transmissions, it's known to fix cold syncro baulk in many other boxes including 80 series toyota and GQ/U patrols.

Thanks guys. I'll pick up some Nulon additive when in town. I've never really been one for the additives but since the oil works well in summer and is not that old I'll give it a try.

Cheers,
Leroy
