Hi all, following on from thread 70907, I have just purchased a nifty Ozita 305mm bar petrol chainsaw from Bunnings for $130. Really compact little toy. Be interesting to see how it goes when we hit the north next week.

However, the smallest size fuel container they sold was 5 litres. I was looking for only a 1 or 2 litre container at max. Anyone know if such exists?

Also, what do people do about petrol fumes?

Cheers.

I have a 1 lt fuel container from a camping shop. They sell them for fuel stoves.

I can carry a days fuel for my 2hp outboard in one :-)

Bunnings also sell a 1 litre container that has ratio markings on the side ie;25 to 1 for $4.95. At least they do in Melbourne. It has a larger opening to fill it and a small spout for filling your chainsaw. I also bought a $135 Ozito chainsaw and it works a treat

I use a small (3 or 4 litre container) that also has a second section for bar oil. It is rectangular and very compact. I picked it up at repco for about $30.

I've had a bad run on small containers. The one litre aluminium fuel container I had from the camping store had its seals disintegrate. So I upgraded to a Rheem black 5 litre petrol container and the unleaded fuel seems to leak through the plastic enough to create a smell of unleaded in the vehicle. I've gone back to the steel containers for the fuel for my unleaded stove.

Go to the wipper snipper section of Bunnings. I purchased a 2 lt container kit complete with goggles, ear plugs last weekend at Joondalup, WA.

John,
I was given a 2 litre steel Stihl fuel can that also has a built in pourer. Came from the local mower shop.

I went to a local paint supplier that sells auto paints and bought a 1 ltr can for a $2.oo. I think they use them for thinners. Its a good size and holds enough for approx 3-4 chainsaw fills

Cheers Dave

I recall seeing a mates one a few years ago that had a 1-2 litre petrol can on one side and a bar oil compartment on the other side. Anyone know where I could get one like that?
