We have a under awning light on our vehicle with a 12V/15CP globe, and would like something a bit brighter. The globe is a common Single contact/Parallel pin globe, similar to that used in indicators and reverse type lights.
I don't need to light up an acre, but a bit more light to see what I'm eating would be helpful !!
Cheers

Hi there. My first thought is that you may find something at Jaycar such as halogen or LED replacements that may fit. They stock a big range, far more than what I would call 'normal' automotive globes. Hope this helps.

Well ummm, at the risk of stating the obvious,
Why don'tcha just try one of the 21W (32 cp??) globes as commonly used in indicator/reverse lights, and see what difference it makes??

Signman try the 21watt globe in yellow we found that our 21watt globes in our external lights were a little too
bright and attrack a lot of insects so we purchases 21watt in yellow easier on the eye and solved the insect problem pick them up from the local auto
shop cheers alan.

Dave, my question is: why are you outside the "Tardis" in the first place??????
As said before, the yellow 21W indicator globe (as used on Patrols etc, so it must be good) will do the job or as also said before, Jaycar has an led replacement globe that draws less power but is brighter in a narrower beam.
Cheers mate, Colin.

For light under an awning, nothing beats a 13watt Fluoro that is mounted horizontally. The LEDs I've seen are too directional. The incandescent globes just waste power.
Spend about $20 at Jaycar for this:
