Hi, We are doing a trip out to Thargo in Sept and want to visit the "Dig Tree", Bulloo River Retreat, Lake Bindegolly,
Kilcowera Station,
Hungerford,
Currawinya Nat
Park and surrounds. Travelling out from Caboolture through
Dalby,
Chinchilla,
Miles,
Roma,
Charleville then down to
Cunnamulla out to Thargo and surrounds then back through
St George visiting
NindiGully,
Goondiwindi and surrounds.
Just wondering if any of you having any info for me on road conditions,
places to see, travel tips etc for that area. Never been out there and am really looking forward to it.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Safe travelling

Kev,
that's blatant advertising and will not be tolerated on this site, I will just have to notify the moderator at some stage, LOL

Can only advise re
Cunnamulla to Tahrgomindah where it's all blacktop apart from a few sections being upgraded. Not sure about
Eulo thru Thargo as we turned off and went north up to
Quilpie via
Yowah. SWMBO is a rock hunter and boulder opal was her target.
At
thargomindah don't miss the hydroelectricity demo from the artesian
bore, Thargo was the first in Oz to have electric streetlighting, and third in the world, so it has some special tags. The talk they give prior to the demo was a true learning experience for me.
We went south from there to
Tibooburra.

Was out that way 2 weeks ago. Thought the roads were very good. Some deep pockets of bulldust through Bulloo River but nothing dangerous.
The major roads were far better than my local roads. So good that there are too many jokers in high tech 4wds with windows up, ac on and bolting along the roads at 100kph+, not bothering to slow to pass or overtake or move over.
