I'll forgive the misspelling of Pillar, the gap between the c and p, and the lack of an apostrophe, and grant you 2 points Richard.

Well done!!!

The explorer named the feature McPherson's Pillar.

It is now known as McPhersons Pillar due to the Genitive Apostrophe clause of the guidelines of the Committee for Geographical Names in Australia.

In all cases of place names containing an element that has historically been written with a final -
's or -s', the apostrophe is to be deleted, e.g. Howes Valley, Rushcutters Bay, Ladys Pass. This
is to facilitate the consistent matching and retrieval of placenames in database systems such
as those used by the emergency services.

Hi Richard,

I've never seen that map before. What's the go with the blazed tree do you know?

And are able to put up a close-up picture of the Pillar - Mine are of pretty poor quality.

Cheers
Alan

The maps are John Deckert from West Print in Nill Vic, they where the first maps I had way before Hema maps, They are not as good as Hema but have some good info on them.

The Blazed tree we did not see. I like tis country If the hip replacement works we will be out there next year.
