Kim and Damn Dog
A few weeks back the mate and I headed north, but I’d promised Damn Dog I’d take her away for a few days in the bush when I got back.
So we toddled off to a caravan
park in Gippsland.
Next morning we left the camper van, and headed up to the High Country, exploring a few over grown tracks.
Somehow I got myself jammed in a situation that took a bit of thinking about.
Nightfall was coming on, so the attention was directed at setting up
camp for the night.
The car was at an angle; I had to chop a bit of wood and get the jack out to level it to a reasonable degree.
After getting a fire going, it was then necessary to search the car to get through the night.
Here was what I found:
An old air mattress
A rather smelly sleeping bag
Four cans of food
Containers of coffee and sugar
30 Litres of
water in the
tank
Half a bottle of something (grog).
Damn Dog and I had a good night in the bush only because there where basic amenities on board.
Next morning I had to cut a tree to get us out of the predicament and we got back without fussing people to give a hand.
I’ve been caught out in similar situations many a time in the past, and now carry these basic things with me, even on a day trip.
PS Damn Dog came back a happy mutt.....!
Regards
Kim

Come to think of it Flywest, I do recall some Hairy Nosed Wombats sobbing in the trees during the night!
Guess I'll have to go up there a again, and gaffer tape the tree back together again.
LOL

A bit like you there Kim , tend to have things hidden away in every little space in the car and sometimes "discover things" when looking for something else.
Don't like discovering
water though ,only carry 4 lts always pretty
well every drive refill the container.
I hope you have discovered a decent can opener though , we seem to need a new one every few drives cause the silly things go off. Must be cheap steel in the little grab
wheels , thses days I always carry one of those old type that stabs the can and you tear the metal up.

I thought that old stab the tin type was the only type especially with the cork screw under the handle multi tasking.
