Hello

Can anybody tell me or send me any info about engine failure in their
3Lt patrol, mine failed at aprox 130000 kms .

I had previous problems with the turbo, boost sensor.airflow sensor which Nissan replaced under warranty, but at 104000 Kms a exhaust stud came loose and the gasket failed but Nissan said the patrol was out of warranty and was not their problem and this little problem cost me $900.00 to get fixed and another $900.00to hire another 4wd
Right now my payrol has no compreeion in number 3 cyilinder so if any body can tell me about their experiences please let me know
Thanks

I thought you hade a gq 4.2 . Anyway I have had problems with 3 litre Gu patrols truckster , what usually happens , is the Valve seat drops down cousing this problem , to make sure or to find out which valve , Take out the glow plug andpump air down the cylinder , if the intake valve is shot , you will hear air from the air filter , exaust valve you will hear from the tail pipe. Dips stick hole or valve cover = piston or rings , My guess is the exaust valve .Craigs hut 2003

Truckster,
Sorry to hear of your prob, I hate anything that keeps costing me un-necessary bucks leaving the wallet....ggrrr
Should I duck for cover & say I love my upgraded 2.8TD.....so far
Sounds like there is going to be a lot of probs around in a few years with 3.0 ltrs & 2.8's. Maybe scope for a lot of donk conversions.
good luck...
Get out there and use it.
Life is too short not to.
All the best...

Oh Hi, My name is Truckster. I have never done this before so please be patient with me if I sound like I dont know anything. My friend blew up his Nissan cause he doesnt know how to drive a diesel car. Put super in it and it made a heap of funny noises like a bus of old nuns rolling off the great ocean road. He just dont know why it will not run properly when it starts. It makes a kind of noise like my old heeler farting after the left over green chicken curry.

Is it fixable or should I just admit defeat and buy a Toyota??? I need your help now as I have no money and are about to have an artificial brain put in at the Frankston Hospital (wel thats what the wife tells me I am going in for) Would rather have the vasectomy.

You've sure got a lemon there Truckster! I'd be pushing hard for the work to be done under warranty though as I've heard of others with problems with that vehicle. Better luck next time - it's crook to be stuck with a poor vehicle - especially as I imagine you are a truck driver and would have done your homework before buying.

Howdy all

Question for Truckster

I got a Kenworth with a 400 Cummins, RT14615 Road ranger and heavy 6 rod
suspension rated at 115 ton, what i'm lookin at is droppin the 400 out and puttin
a nice little 3.0L in for better economy etc, what I need is a conversion kit to hook
the 3.0L to the ranger, do you know where I can get one of these, I rang Nissan
but they couldn't help me. I heard that you got one of these in your rig and it
pulls like a mother F%&?er.

Please help........ Thankyou
