Hi Guys
Surprisingly I have been unable to find a K1 line plot and wonder if anyone can help with this.
Treks here, have almost every other Simpson track , but I don't seem to be ab le to come up with this. Couldn't even find it on 4x4 earth.
Its the track from
Warburton crossing up to Poeppels.
I seem to remember it is fairly straightforword and wonder if anyone could
hazard a guess about when it will open - only guesses pre-september will make me smile.

Hi Robin, I am also off to the Simpson Friday 14th and have been Nav planning for a few weeks. I just use a combination of OziExplorer with the better scaled Simpson 500 map to get the rough lat and long on the tracks then use it to locate the track on Google earth and follow it as far as you need, the detail is great, you can get as many points as you want.
regards David

Hi David
Could do that I guess , actually a bit surprized that its not in exploroz treks.
Maybe you or I might add it one day , but hundreds would have plotted it , and as my GPS can drive those plots it just would be convient to have it.
You have a good trip won't you , for me I can wait till just after the
Birdsville races and only plan on going if tracks like the K1 open up.

Thanks Robin
I am sure someone will come up with a plot file.
Google earth is great for planning I hope to do another confluence this year and have plotted a path up the swales.

Hi Richard
Thanks , that should help a lot.
I am intrigued as to how you found that plot it has an ID of 611 , but I cannot find that through the Treks menu.
The treks menu list several Simpson tracks , but not that one.

Hi Robin,
We drove the K1 last year. Although hard to follow the track in
places, probably as it is less used than others out there, it is as you mentioned, pretty straightforward. Unfortunately, we didn't plot it while we were there.
Cheers
Brian

Hi Brian
Seem to remember now you went that way, and the biggest obstacle was that big puddle west of
Birdsville.

Hi Robin
Which part of the K1 you after I have a plot here taken in 2008 from the Birdsvile track to the QAA Line, which includes Yelpawaralina Track,
Warburton Track and the K1 Line. If it's still required let me know and ill cut out the section needed and email it to you.

Hello Chris
That would be nice, I have parts of it now, but not the
Warburton end.
I can do the cutting work to save your time if you like , just send whatever you have.
Thanks

Just quickly Robin, but I think that bit is in the "Inside Track" trek note.
